Privacy Policy

021 Auto Leasing LLC, doing business as 021 Auto Rentals (“021 Auto Rentals,” “we,” “us” or “our”), rents its own cars in Los Angeles. This policy explains what personal information we collect through 021autorentals.com, when you contact us and when you rent our car; how we use and share it; and the choices you have.

Effective date: November 2, 2026.

Bookings and payments happen on our booking partner’s page, which has its own privacy policy. This policy covers what we collect and do ourselves.

1. Information we collect

Contact details and messages. Your name, phone number, email address and what you tell us when you text, call or email us.

Trip details from our booking partner. When you book our car, our booking partner shares what we need to run your trip: your name, profile photo, phone number, license details, trip dates and times, the hand-over and return address, the drivers on the booking, and the messages you send us through its platform.

Hand-over and return records. We check each driver’s license in person and may keep a photo of it with the trip record. We photograph the car at hand-over and return and record the time, place, mileage, fuel level, condition and any damage. If you sign a hand-over or return receipt, we keep your signature with it.

Vehicle data. The car has Mercedes-Benz connected services that report its mileage and fuel level and, when switched on, its location. We use location only in the cases California law allows, as set out in the Vehicle location section of our Terms of Service.

Tickets, tolls and claims. Toll notices, parking and traffic citations, police and accident reports, and insurance and claims information connected to your trip.

Website activity. When you visit our website, our hosting providers receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser, device type, the pages you visit and the page that sent you. Our website host counts visits without cookies, and we see totals, not individual visitors.

2. Where it comes from

From you; from our booking partner; from the car’s connected services; from toll agencies, parking and police authorities, insurers and claims adjusters; and from the providers that run our website, phone, texts and email.

3. How we use it

To answer your questions and arrange delivery, hand-over and return; to check that each driver meets the requirements and that the license matches the person; to care for, insure and protect the car, and to recover it if it is stolen or not returned; to handle tickets, tolls, damage and claims with you, our booking partner and insurers; to prevent fraud and keep people and the car safe; to improve our website and service; and to meet our legal, tax, insurance and record-keeping obligations.

We use a driver’s license only to confirm identity and eligibility, prevent fraud and handle claims, never for advertising. We send offers by text or email only if you have asked for them, and you can stop them at any time.

4. Who we share it with

Our booking partner, to run and support your booking, payment, protection and claims.

Service providers that work for us under contract: website hosting (Framer, Cloudflare); customer records, texts and email (HighLevel/LeadConnector); and email and documents (Google). They may use the information only to provide their service to us.

Insurers, claims adjusters, toll agencies and authorities, when needed to handle a claim, toll, ticket, accident, theft or legal request.

Professional advisers, such as our lawyers and accountants, and a buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized, who must handle it under this policy.

Anyone else only with your permission or when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Text messages, email and calls

We text and email you about questions you send us and trips you book: delivery, hand-over and return details, reminders and support. Promotional texts are sent only if you separately agree to receive them, and agreeing is never a condition of renting.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. The providers that send our texts may process your number only to deliver our messages.

Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. The full text message terms are in our Terms of Service.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any of them. If a call with us is ever recorded, you will be told at the start of the call.

6. Website, cookies and advertising

Our website uses no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels. Your browser may keep small settings for the site itself, which stay on your device.

Links in our ads can carry a tag that shows which ad you came from. It does not identify you.

If we add an advertising platform’s pixel or cookies to measure our ads, we will update this policy before we do, offer a way to opt out, and treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of any sharing for advertising.

Do Not Track. Because the site does not track you across other websites, a browser’s Do Not Track signal does not change how it works.

7. How long we keep it

Messages that do not lead to a trip: up to 2 years. Trip records, hand-over and return photos and signatures: up to 4 years after the trip ends, or longer while a claim, ticket or legal matter is open. License photos: 12 months after the trip unless a claim, ticket or legal matter needs them. Records of each time the car’s location tracking is switched on: 12 months. Opt-out records: as long as needed to honor them. After that we delete or de-identify the information.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, limit access to the people who need it, and keep files in accounts protected by sign-in. No system is completely secure, so please send documents only when we ask for them.

9. Your privacy rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it or delete it, subject to the records we must keep for legal, tax, insurance and claims reasons. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act where it applies; we offer them to everyone who contacts or rents from us.

To make a request, email info@021autorentals.com or call (805) 666-6021. We confirm your identity by matching details we already hold, answer within 45 days, and never treat you differently for asking. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission.

California “Shine the Light.” We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

10. Children

Our website and service are for adults, and every driver must be 30 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Other companies and websites

Our booking partner, Mercedes-Benz connected services, and the websites and apps we link to have their own privacy policies. This policy does not cover the information they collect themselves.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, give extra notice, such as by email or text, where the law requires.
